Dolphin Habitat
This 2.5-million-gallon Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage is home
to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. Its purpose is to
provide a healthy and nurturing environment for dolphins, as well
as to educate the public about marine mammals and their environment
- including their role in the ecosystem. Four connected pools,
an artificial coral reef system, and a sandy bottom replicate
the dolphins' natural environment. The facility houses only dolphins
that were relocated from other facilities or born right here.
No animals are taken from the wild for this project.
The Dolphin Habitat is an educational facility. Guests are provided
the chance to see the dolphins in a naturalistic environment,
exhibiting natural behaviors.
Guided tours for the public are conducted throughout the day.
The habitat is also a site for scientific research and educational
programs for students from pre-school through university age.

Tomb and Museum of King Tut
Luxor Las Vegas has once again opened the doors to what has been
called the greatest archaeological find in the history of the
world, an authentic reproduction of King Tutankhamun's tomb. The
measurements of each of the rooms are exact. The treasures therein
were reproduced by artisans using the same gold leaf and linens,
precious pigments, tools and original 3,300-year-old methods,
and each is meticulously positioned according to the records maintained
by the Carter expedition. The exhibit houses hundreds of reproductions,
including the world-famous guardian statues, King Tut's sarcophagus,
and an array of statues, vases, beds, baskets and pottery. King
Tut's Tomb and Museum is a 15 minute, self guided, audio tour. |
